DOWNTON-ON-THE-ROCK CHURCH Herefordshire
Downton is on an unclassified lane that runs south-west from the A4113 (north-east of Leintwardine) to the A4110 south of Leintwardine. The ruins of the old church are at Downton-on-the-Rock about half a mile south of the present church.

This church was granted to the Mortimers of Wigmore at an early date and then passed on by them to Wigmore Abbey.

The church is now ruined, but has a narrow 'Norman' chancel arch and two windows possibly of later date. There is a further ruined window in the nave which may be later again in date.
